Benefits
There are several benefits youth experience throughout our session as they master their horsemanship & riding skills.
We do not just focus on the physical improvements, we focus on the routine and everyday skills kids can take away from horse sessions. While learning how to take care of the horses before riding, children will learn: empathy, responsibility, problem solving & more!
While riding students will learning leadership skills, patience, active listening, confidence & more!
The impact of our sessions carries on to everyday life as we impact the core of our students: their identities. Students build their self-esteem and self-efficacy by regulating their emotions to convert negative feelings into constructive motivation. This motivation they experience throughout lessons carries into their everyday lives, empowering them to believe in themselves and their abilities.
Diverse Learners
We are different than therapeutic horseback riding.
Giddy Up Equine Experiences is devoted to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through a friendship with the horse. We strive to improve the bodies, minds and spirits of students by offering lessons that: have a positive environment for learning, focuses on the capabilities of each student, provide a sense of accomplishment and control.

We are not doctors, certified therapists or a therapeutic horseback riding centre but we have seen the impact horses have had on children with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, Autism, developmental disabilities, trauma & more.

Our goal is to focus on the positive changes horses can have in children's lives, which include changes in cognition, mood, judgment, insight, perception, social skills, communication, behaviour, and learning. As well as, be as inclusive as possible to meet the needs of the community. We are able to do that through 1:1 sessions with our highly skilled educator Vanessa Savage.

She took Developmental Service Worker Course with lots of experience with school boards, group homes, day programs, respite and therapeutic horseback riding. Vanessa has a wealth of experience with kids from in the schools to being an Au Pair to coaching.

With Vanessa's background this program was created to combine her love of horses with her passion to help kids.
Behavioural Intervention
Possibly ASD Funding Approved
Giddy Up Equine Experiences has been approved in the past by the Autism Foundation by offering Behavioural Intervention with horses. Vanessa will personalize each students program based on the skills & needs of the child. She is willing to work with a Behavioural Consultant and read your child's BPI to make sure she optimizes how she creates your child's goals & plan.

Vanessa has found that horses calm riders, allowing the child to focus, think and accept training. The desire to ride also allows us to encourage positive behaviours and gently discourage negative behaviours. This is one of the main benefits of signing your child up for behavioural intervention with horses!
